Trauma, Attachment Concerns, & Relationship Issues
Specialized Diagnostic Assessment & Treatment for Trauma, PTSD, and Relationship Issues
Whether you have a diagnosis of PTSD, you’re dealing with current relationship or attachment issues, or you know that you continue to be impacted by your trauma or developmental history, we’re here to help.
Whether it is painful memories or current conflict, trauma and relationship issues can erode our sense of safety and self esteem. We might be in frequent conflict with others, have memories of trauma intruding on our lives, have trouble resolving conflict when we do encounter it, or avoid conflict at the price of our own well-being. We can be confronted with loss through the end of an important relationship or we might fear that our own behavior could lead to the end of a relationship in the future. However we experience it, relationship issues & lingering trauma symptoms deeply impact our mental health.
There is no one size fits all approach to trauma therapy or relationship issues. After a careful assessment we will combine forces - you will provide as much information as you can about the ways you’re struggling and we will provide psychological knowledge, evidence based treatments if they are appropriate, and of course - support! Many of the clinicians at Brown Psychological are trained in EMDR and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD.
If you have relationship, communication, emotional regulation, or attachment issues, any of the skilled clinicians here may be able to help. We will work with you to understand the ways you think and behave in relationship with others now and in the past, gain new skills in dealing with others, and cope with difficulty in relationships. We might draw upon CBT, DBT, ACT, Schema therapy, EMDR, or Attachment theory to make a treatment plan for you.
