What it’s like to work with me:
I’m easy to talk to, a big believer in humour, and am endlessly curious about the people I get to sit across from. I had a previous career in construction and engineering, and while therapy is very different work in many ways, at the core I’m a systems thinker who likes to make sense of complex problems. My work is informed by science and grounded in the real world, and I love a good diagram, chart, map, or doodle when it comes to communicating tricky concepts. I believe that having more than one way to interpret information makes it stick better, so if I can add visual or tactile elements, I will!
My clients tell me that they leave our work with a solid understanding of what’s going on for them, concrete steps that they can take, a deep sense of being heard, and a renewed sense of confidence. If you’re in a place where you’re ready for change, I would love to work with you.
Sessions with me cost $235.00, and I am happy to meet you online or in-person at our downtown office in Edmonton.
what i do best
-
Trauma is my area of greatest expertise. I have specialized training in multiple evidence-based approaches and years of experience working with many different types of trauma, including developmental trauma, interpersonal trauma and domestic violence, intergenerational trauma, and trauma due to discrimination. I worked at the sexual assault centre of Edmonton for several years, so sexual trauma is a major area of speciality for me.
In addition to working with all kinds of lasting impacts of trauma that don’t involve a diagnosis, I am able to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for PTSD.
-
OCD and anxiety disorders are another major area of focus for me. I provide assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment for OCD, and I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention, which is the gold standard treatment for OCD.
I also work with anxiety disorders including social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and GAD using best practice evidence based treatments

I work with lots of people with ADHD and Autism neurotypes and considerations of how to modify my treatment approaches for neurodivergent folks is front and centre in my practice.
While I am not able to provide assessments for ADHD and Autism, I’d be delighted to work with your (known or suspected!) neurodivergent brain style in therapy.

It’s hard to avoid how much time and mental energy work can take in our lives. When it’s tied to finances and survival and we can’t work the way we used to, it can feel like a big problem.
I have a deep personal and professional interest in this area, and completed my masters capstone research project on the topic of burnout. I would love to help you get to the bottom of what’s driving your burnout, create a plan for you to recover, and figure out how to re-engage you, whether it’s with work or with other areas of your life.

I am a passionate ally to the queer community and about half of my clients are gender and sexual minorities. I am stoked to work with so many queer folks, and you will find me deeply queer affirming no matter what we are working on together.

I do not work with minors, families, or couples in litigation.
I am also limited in the level of care I can provide: if you are experiencing acute psychosis, or are struggling with serious self-harm and suicide attempts, I will refer you to more comprehensive supports.
Some of the people I work with struggle with chronic suicidal ideation, their relationship with substance(s), and how they feel about food and their body. For these clients, thoughts and behaviors are rooted in disorders I can treat, such as trauma. However, if your struggles with suicide, a substance, and/or food are the primary problem you’re struggling with, I’ll find you someone who specializes in this work. Once you have enough tools to where you feel like you’re managing these challenges, you would be welcome to reach back out.
